In support of this mission, CASA of Mendocino & Lake Counties is committed to the following values: – Advocate for the best interests of children. – Provide comprehensive training programs to educate volunteer advocates. – Recruit volunteers to act as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA’s). – Provide ongoing support to CASA staff and volunteers. – Create and maintain public awareness and educate the community regarding child abuse and neglect – Provide advocacy networking and liaison with public and private agencies and individuals. – Act in liaison with, and at the direction of, the Juvenile Court Judge. **Unfortunately unable to advocate for Family Law Cases**

Family Urgent Response System (FURS)
FURS is a free 24/7/365 Hotline for current and former foster youth (up to age 21) and their caregivers with immediate, trauma�informed support when they need it. FURS assists to prevent placement disruptions, promotes healing as a family and is a safe, judgement free, and private space to talk about your worries and vent.

Foster Care Ombudsman
The mission of the California Office of the Foster Care Ombudsman (OFCO) is to advocate on behalf of foster children and youth regarding their care, placement, and services. The OFCO is an autonomous entity that is empowered to investigate and informally resolve complaints impacting foster youth, increase awareness about foster youth rights, and make recommendations to help support systemic change.
